Guilt By Silence
Here is an interesting article from Townhall.Com that summarizes what is happening to our culture and country. I believe that this stems from years of people just going with the flow. The things going on around them didn’t seem to affect them so they just didn’t care. They didn’t speak up.
Lawyers got into the mix by filing law suits for every case of butthurt that people wanted to make a buck off of. And the courts agree and the payouts began. Hurt some one’s feelings and it’s going to cost you. Now people are afraid to express opinions or fight for their beliefs because it might offend someone. We’re brainwashed.
Take a look at the schools – more worried about self esteem than teaching the kids things they need to know. Everybody is a winner! They are coming out of school and into the world with that “it’s not fair” mentality. We are creating a generation of situational incompents that will not be able to function. Then they will hire lawyers. I don’t know how to fix this one. I guess this is one that we have to take care of at home.
The illegal immigrants that come here are given almost the same rights as our citizens. Granted they can’t vote (legally) but their voices are heard! Notice that? They make a big stink that even though they aren’t supposed to be here that they still feel that they deserve or have earned access to our health care and other entitlements. And they get it. Lawyers are involved here too (ACLU??)
I’m hoping that all the ruckus we are making regarding our 2A rights will make a difference like it has with the illegals (any race, skin color, religion or whatever else). If we remain silent (and I don’t think we have been) then it’s our own fault. If we lose because the powers that be play dirty (and we know they do) and skirt the law then we can at least know we tried. Write your federal and state representatives. Sign those whitehouse.gov petitions. Make sure that they are the legitimate ones, not the stupid ones. You will see the difference.
